Sculptures

Glass as a sculptural “non-material” this is a concept I have been developing and exploring for the past few years. (he sculptures was started in 2011, and the series of sculptures are called “the familiar strangers”) As an artist and craftsman, I challenge the expression of the material. I wanted to take away the external characteristics of glass and seemingly show the visual characteristics of stone, ceramic or metal. Starting points for these sculptures are charcoal drawings where I gather my thoughts and emotions into a figurative expression. I leave it to the interpretation of the viewer to specify the emotional expression or state of mind of the sculptures. After all, everyone has a different interpretation based on the experiences they have had during their life.
